As usual, I enjoy participating in the weekly contests. While writing my answers, I learn more about myself and also about other stories that can serve as inspiration. What's the best advice you've ever recieved from a strong woman? Describe a strong female character who inspired or inspires you.
Las mujeres siempre han formado parte importante de mi crianza, de mis valores y de la persona que soy hoy gracias a ellas. Mientras mi mamá trabajaba para poder vernos crecer mi abuela materna fue quien se dedicó a cuidarnos con amor y bondad, ella era una mujer con una historia difícil donde no pudo conocer a su madre biológica y terminó viviendo con una amiga de su madre que se encargó de criarla. Se que ella nunca pudo conocer realmente su historia o al menos nunca tocaba ese tema con nosotros, seguramente sentía mucho dolor y tristeza por no haber conocido a su madre. Pero esto no la detuvo de convertirse en una mujer de palabra, de fe y de mucho amor para dar a los demás. Aunque ella no era muy expresiva siempre nos aconsejaba que debíamos estudiar, ella no pudo terminar sus estudios entonces para ella vernos crecer y terminar una carrera era muy importante, lamentablemente no vivió lo suficiente para hacerlo pero es algo que recuerdo que siempre nos decía. Ella siempre pensó que el estudio nos aseguraría una vida más próspera que la que probablemente ella vivió, también recuerdo que siempre quería que nos respetaramos como hermanos, no le gustaba que pelearamos, así que fue una figura muy importante en nuestras vidas y fue la persona que nos enseñó que aunque la vida tenga obstáculos por más difíciles que sean siempre debemos ser buenas personas y hacer el bien sin importar quien sea.
Women have always been an important part of my upbringing, my values, and the person I am today thanks to them. While my mother worked to see us grow up, my maternal grandmother was the one who devoted herself to caring for us with love and kindness. She was a woman with a difficult history who never got to know her biological mother and ended up living with a friend of her mother's who took care of raising her. I know she never really got to know her own story, or at least she never talked about it with us. She must have felt a lot of pain and sadness about not knowing her mother. But this did not stop her from becoming a woman of her word, of faith, and of great love for others. Although she was not very expressive, she always advised us to study. She was unable to finish her studies, so seeing us grow up and finish a degree was very important to her. Unfortunately, she did not live long enough to see that happen, but it is something I remember her always telling us. She always believed that studying would ensure us a more prosperous life than she probably had. I also remember that she always wanted us to respect each other as siblings. She didn't like us fighting, so she was a very important figure in our lives and the person who taught us that even though life has obstacles, no matter how difficult they may be, we must always be good people and do good regardless of who we are.

En algún punto de mi vida estuve muy mal de salud, casi no podía hacer las cosas por mi misma y tenía que recibir ayuda para todo... Fue un momento difícil que parecía eterno pero que me enseñó muchas cosas entre ellas a tener paciencia y a ser más agradecida. Estar enferma me enseñó que pedir ayuda es de valientes y que siempre hay alguien que a pesar de todo te va a tender una mano para ayudarte... Luego de esta situación de salud me costó mucho volver a caminar, tenía que usar una férula para poder dar pasos, al principio fue muy doloroso y tenía muchos miedos, sobre todo dudas de si podría caminar por mi propia cuenta sin ayuda y superar esa prueba... Conseguí la fuerza suficiente para decir un día que ya no usaría más la férula y que empezaría a caminar aunque fuese lentamente de manera que lo hiciera por mi propia cuenta, esto con el tiempo me ayudó mucho a volver a caminar mejor y con más confianza aunque aún sigo recuperándome de este proceso que es largo pero no imposible. Siempre tuve dudas pero también me llene de fé en que las cosas podrían mejorar. 🤍
At one point in my life, I was in very poor health. I could hardly do anything on my own and needed help with everything... It was a difficult time that seemed to last forever, but it taught me many things, including to be patient and more grateful. Being sick taught me that asking for help is brave and that there is always someone who, despite everything, will lend a hand to help you... After this health situation, it was very difficult for me to walk again. I had to use a splint to be able to take steps. At first, it was very painful, and I had many fears, especially doubts about whether I could walk on my own without help and overcome that challenge... I found the strength to say one day that I would no longer use the splint and that I would start walking, even if slowly, so that I could do it on my own. Over time, this helped me a lot to walk better and with more confidence, although I am still recovering from this process, which is long but not impossible. I always had doubts, but I also had faith that things could get better. 🤍
