2οΈβ£ Which would you prefer: to be able to see the future or to be able to see the past?
To briefly answer the first question. Yes, I very much believe in lifelong fidelity. When 2 people are in a relationship of a choice then why should it not be there. In a relationship Trust is as much as important as Love. Both of them go hand in hand. If there is genuine Love, there is trust for your partner and you surely will not have any reasons to break each other's trust if the relationship is healthy.
There are too many distractions that come along the way in any relationships, but then one has to learn to beat those distractions and stay committed towards the relationship, else the relationship makes no sense. Couple who are madly deeply in love with each other also fall out of their relationship with these distractions. I will not judge it in any right or wrong category, because one can never understand the situation of that opposite person, but personally I do believe in lifelong fidelity.
Past or Future
Past is gone and it is something that we can only reflect on to learn the lessons and move on. Future is unknown and it sometimes brings anxiety. I personally believe it's ok to get a little glimpse of the future. I do Tarot reading and Pendulum Dowsing and people ask me all sort of questions about their future. One thing that I have learned in my practice is, that Universe will only bring information of the future to you of what you are prepared to hear and deal with. It will not reveal all of the future information to you, and no future predictions can ever be perfect.
I would always like to know the future because I will have some understanding about where my life is going and I can work towards it better. If my future does not show me very good times, then probably I can do something in my present to make it good. Being able to see the future will allow us to plan our life and move in that direction. If we are making any mistakes, we will be conscious about them and probably not make them. If I see myself in a bitter relationship with our loved ones in future then I can be more mindful about it, or if I see myself in a poor health condition then I can start taking good care of my health. There are some advantages of being able to see the future.
As such I also believe that we should not try to know everything about our future else there is no excitement in life if we get to know everything. We should allow the mysteries of life unfold with time. As it is rightly said curiosity kills the cat, like wise knowing too much about future can also be dangerous.

I also want to be able to see the future
It will help me a lot and even give me an idea of how to use my present well
That's true to an extent, but knowing more about the future can sometimes stress us out in the present, specially if the future does not look very great
I think that, given the opportunity, we would all be glad to take a glance at the future
