Ladies of Hive Community Contest #75 - The One must thing to do in my City

This week @ladiesofhive questions are
1️⃣ If we were to visit you, what is the one "must-do" in your hometown?
Would it be something to eat, a place to visit, a person to meet, or something else?

Or

2️⃣ What are your thoughts of a "house husband?"
Would you be okay with a relationship where roles were reversed?

Check out for this contest for more details

I choose to answer question no 1. The 2nd question I do have some reflections on it which I will keep it very short. In my home right from my childhood I have seen man equally participating in household activities so I have never really had challenge on that part. Rather both my Father and Husband have been into cooking activity more than me. My Dad was a single parent so he played the role of Father and Mother both in the house. My hubby has pampered me a lot...hehehe, and he takes up a lot of house activities, so in this case I feel I am blessed.

Coming to the 1st Question. If someone visits my city, what is that one must thing to do.

The City that I am currently living in is Muscat and it's a very beautiful place. Whoever visits here says that this place is like Heaven on Earth. The City has different landscapes, there are the majestic mountains and blue green sea, and the most beautiful beaches, it has desert land and terrace gardens. A lot of nature to enjoy. The other part is the cleanliness and the order in the City, not just the city, but the overall country is like that. A lot of beautification happens in the city season wise. I always say that this place sometimes looks too good to be true.

Besides the natural sights there are some other wonders to see in my city and one of them is the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque. It is one of the best Mosques of the world and is named after the Late Sultan of Oman. If you ever happen to visit my City, this is a must must see. The grandeur and architecture of this mosque is marvelous.

A little about the mosque. The mosque is built over an area of 400,00 square meters and it is built in all white Italian marble. It is opened up for tourist only in the morning hours till 11:00 a.m. after that tourists are not allowed in the mosque. The Mosque has 2 prayer rooms, one for the men and other for women. The Women prayer room is quite simple, though that too has some beautiful intricate designs but the one that leaves us in awe is the male prayer room.

The two things that brings the grand show to this place is the main Chandelier and the Carpet.
The Chandelier is made of around 6,00,000 Swarovski Crystals with a 24 carat gold plating. It is 14 meters high and weighs 8.5 tons. Almost a height of a 5 floor building. There are small steps inside it for the maintenance work. That's huge, right? It is a master piece, not that something we can see very commonly.

This is the picture of the Chandelier I clicked when I visited the mosque. It does no justice to what you see in real.

With the similar design there are smaller chandeliers all over the mosque.

The other one is the Carpet. It is a one piece carpet, yes, just one large carpet, beyond my imagination for sure. It is a Persian carpet, made in Iran. It took 600 women to weave this carpet over a duration of 4 years. Another master piece.

I do not have a clear picture of the carpet, but some pictures taken where you can see the carpet.

If you see the size of this hall and then imagine that there is just one piece carpet all over this place, so how huge it must be.

This is the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca and they face towards this direction for prayers. This particular architecture is made in a way that when people would pray the sound will reflect back and there is echo of the prayer in the prayer room.

Not only the inside but the outside of the mosque is also very beautiful with a big garden area and fountains.

The mosque was completed in the year 2001 at that time the Chandelier and the Carpet were the biggest, breaking the previous world records, but now this record has been broken, but still when you look at it, you will feel the grandness.

Not just this but everything here is so well thought of, the windows in the corridor with mosaic designs, the wooden carved ceiling, the marble pillars, everything here is beautifully designed.

The Mosque looks beautiful from the outside at night as well with all the light effects.

It is one of the mega structures of the world and if you visit my city, a must see, else your tour will stay unfinished. I have visited the mosque 4 times in the last 6 years and every time I go there I enjoy it the same way as if it's the first time.

I will like to invite @sduttaskitchen to participate in this contest.

Thank you for visiting my blog. 👼🏻👼🏻💖💖🌹🌺🌸
