Earlier today, I was going through the blog pages of those I onboarded on Hive so far to really see if all my effort in guiding these newbies on the Hive platform was worth it. Truth be told, web3 comes with its complexities, but it's more encouraging when I devote my time and energy to guiding newbies, and they in turn make me proud by implementing the teachings and showing seriousness to what they showed interest in.

Some of these newbies simply frustrated my effort; for some, I created their accounts and guided them through every step they needed to know, but along the line they disappeared into thin air without leaving a word. Upon asking about their whereabouts, they will tell you how earning on Hive is not what they thought it was; perhaps they expected $500 per post or month. I don't know, but whatever, their bunch of excuses are just irrelevant, and it's more annoying because I made it clear to them that Hive is never a get-rich-quick scheme but rewards effort still.
I remember the time I did my newbies initiative program, and the tutor kept reminding us of the need to be consistent, whether upvote or not, the need to engage and build social connection, and many more valuable teachings that year. The tutorials were a solid foundation for me on this platform and have kept me going to date.
I wouldn't say that I have become a millionaire on Hive, but my efforts have been so rewarding and decent, and I am grateful. It didn't start in my early days on Hive, but in all challenges, I never allowed it to discourage me but rather kept growing at my pace.

There is one of these newbies that when I checked on her to know why she stopped writing on Hive, her excuse was not having data. But then, I strolled through her TikTok page and Instagram and saw that she was an active poster over there even without monetization. At times I wonder what people want for themselves, diverting their energies to a platform that pays you zero naira or pushing the same energy to where your effort is rewarded?
Yeah, personalities are different, and in some projects we see values in it; some may come without seeing what we saw, so I just take it as one of those things about life, but if I must be sincere, I will tell you that some set of newbies simply wasted all the undiluted effort I put in nurturing them on Hive. It's discouraging, especially knowing that I guide these people thoroughly without requesting a kobo.
However, I am very proud of two accounts currently: soma18 and ginika. These are the people I onboarded too, and they have been very active both in engagement and blogging and being active in some community Discord servers. Whenever I see their positive energies here on the chain, I feel encouraged. My onboarder to date is proud of my consistency so far on Hive, and hopefully, those I bring in here will continue to thrive, giving back to the system as well. It's a win-win.

When we make lot's of effort to guide a newbie we expect them to stay but most of they make our effort go in vain and leave platform. Such a thing give us bad feeling. But what can we do? We can't force them either.

Sure, we can't force them
.
The little that stays makes me proud though
That's true.
I know how discouraging it can be when someone you’ve dedicated your time to teaching suddenly loses interest and disappears.
Just like every other platform, Hive requires personal commitment.
The good thing is, you’ve done your part. Whether they stay or not, I’m sure they’ll always be grateful to you in their heart.

Devoting time and energy to tutor someone and eventually that person doesn't utilize that knowledge can be very discouraging.
Whether your mentees stay on hive or not, just remain focused and keep telling and guiding others who care to utilize the opportunity to grow
By and large, when these newbies who'd left see your progress and probably earnings,I believe one or two would wish they'd remained and grow as well
Yea..very discouraging but what can we do ? Lol..just to feel the pain and be encouraged with those that stays
It’s saddening when you bring people to opportunities like this and they don’t take it seriously. Imagine bringing two people whom I paid my precious Hive for and they aren’t here. These are the kind of people who make you want to give up but you know, others that are coming might not be like them but we feel they are all the same. Although, I have made up my mind not to use my Hive to open accounts for anyone again, though it doesn’t stop me from explaining to them. Glad your onboardees are doing fine and good.
I hv wasted many hives creating accounts for unserious set of people ..heaven knows that if I should do that again, the person foot the bill himself or herself unless hive board registration which is free is going smoothly
You tried your best. It's really up to each of us to encourage newbies to stay and take the time to develop and mature into great bloggers. Don't feel that this is only on your shoulders. When I discover someone I know has left, I feel a loss in our community. I admit it wasn't easy as it looks and I had to lower my expectations before I succeed. For those going to another platform, Hive's format may not suit them.
Thanks @nkemakonam89

Yea..I feel a loss too seeing someone I know leaving here, but the truth is that , there is limit to what we can do
I better reduce my expectations on these newbies , hehehe
Thanks for your warm response sis🥰
I am glad we make you proud in the process of help ourselves. The ones who didn't stay lack patience probably they were looking for easy way to make money.
While teaching them they were more interested in the testimonies than in doing the needful, but hey! You've done your part, the decision is in their hands.
Always proud of you dear 👌
