Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you're doing well. It's great to be participating in the Ladies of the Hive contest today. Actually, I'm a little annoyed by the division between domestic and public spaces. Because domestic work is free, in my country, unpaid work is considered lowly.
Being a housewife has become a trivial and free job. So, what are the conditions in my house? Three years after my mother married my father, I asked my mother to become a housewife. On the condition that a certain amount must be met, all the household needs and my mother's needs must be met.
My mother accepted the condition, so my father worked hard to provide for all our needs. But doesn't my father do any domestic work? When he's off work, he always helps with household chores, like cleaning and cooking. Sometimes he even washes the dishes.
It's certain that when my father cleans the house, it's very clean. Even when he washes the dishes, the level of cleanliness is above average. That's what I like about my father. But when I got older, I was given the task of cleaning the house as well. I shared the chores with my younger brother.
Since my younger brother and I grew up, housework has become a shared responsibility. It's no longer my mother's responsibility. My mother has more time to spend with friends. I've also learned to appreciate the difficult tasks of the house.
Now, I feel grateful that I can do housework well. Essentially, my parents taught me this so that when I'm away from home, I can do it myself. But as for cooking, I haven't cooked until now.

When we are young and can't do much, our parents make sacrifices so we can be comfortable, and we learn from them in the process. As we grow, we implement what we have learned from them.

Don't feel bad that your cooking is not like your mum's own. You can still cook, and the food will taste great. You can continue to learn from her to improve your cooking skills.

Many hands can make light the work! It's good that everyone contributes. As for cooking, when I lived at home with my parents as a young woman, I did cook, but it was different dishes than my mom did. I don't know if she was afraid to try something different or not. I would just create a dish by adding the ingredients I wanted to and it always seemed to turn out good. Nobody complained anyway.

Sharing household tasks from young was something we did with both parents working. Dad cooked when he arrived home from work, I had to prepare vegetables to give him assistance, never learned the absolute art to some of his dishes as each has their own style. No one could make a better Sunday roast than what Dad did that I know for sure!
