Loh Contest 264: These Two Decisions Changed My Life

in Ladies of Hive8 days ago

Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you're doing well. This challenge is truly interesting. It seems I need to be grateful for what's happening in my life, especially the depressive phase that I experienced. At that time, I realized that I was the only one left. My self became the source of strength to rise again.

So, what was the biggest decision that changed my life? Actually, there were two things that became turning points in my life this time. First, during this depressive phase, I didn't take medication. I didn't see a psychiatrist. Did I consult a psychologist? Yes, several times, and for me, they didn't help much. They only recommended journaling and grounding.

Long before I experienced depression, I was already doing these things. So, my coping mechanisms were no longer relevant to my body and mind. So, why not see a psychiatrist? Honestly, I believe that if I take medication but don't address my mental issues, it won't change. When faced with the same problem, I would continue to fall. So, I didn't take medication.

I chose other alternatives for recovery: the Sedona Method and human design. These two methods helped me rediscover myself. The Sedona method in particular was truly the most powerful. I released a significant amount of emotional baggage. I probably cried every day during the two months of therapy.

Ultimately, through this method, I re-realized that surrendering to a Higher Power is the key to living life. I simply followed God's will and let go of all my desires. I felt like I had rediscovered myself and became a new soul. But, to this day, I'm still continuing therapy.

Another major decision was applying for a scholarship to study abroad. During the recovery process, I re-examined the desires I had within me, not through the eyes of others. It turned out I had big dreams too. Studying abroad became the starting point for the foundation of the dreams I would build. This year, I didn't make the cut. But that didn't deter me from participating again.

I feel I have the strength to re-apply for the selection process next year. I feel like these two decisions were turning points in my life. That's all I can share in this challenge. What do you think? Have you experienced the same thing as me?

Whoa, I think that decision to follow God's will and leave out your baggage to him was the best. Because he is the owner and creator. Well, I wouldn't know what caused the depression in the first place, but being in a lot of worry and other negative situations are viable causes. It will be fine to also have a deep reflection on what makes you happy and do those things. Engaging in outdoor meetings with family and friends, and trusted colleagues can also help. I am happy that you have also started rediscovering yourself. Please continue to make yourself happy. For the scholarship, I wish you the best in your next try. Please take care of yourself.

Thank you for sharing your journey. It takes so much courage to face yourself and choose healing on your own terms. Your strength and self-awareness are inspiring. Wishing you all the best as you continue your therapy and reapply for the scholarship. Rooting for you!
