I am happily divorced and fortunately I have a wonderful friendship with my ex-husband. For our son and for ourselves, that after having shared so many things, it is, in my opinion, absurd from every point of view, to be enemies or angry.
I have a son of almost eleven years old (strong age, because he is neither a child nor a teenager), but even with his strong character, he gives me smiles, hugs and makes my life simply precious.

Soy felizmente divorciada y afortunadamente tengo una magnífica relación de amistad con mi ex esposo. Por nuestro hijo y por nosotros mismos, que después de haber compartido tantas cosas, es, a mi parecer, absurdo desde todo punto de vista, quedar como enemigos o enojados.
Tengo un hijo de casi once años (edad fuerte, porque ni es niño, ni es adolescente), pero aún y su carácter fuerte, me regala sonrisas, abrazos y me hace la vida simplemente preciosa.
This is a short presentation, to jump right into contest #20 of this community. The first question they ask is:
What is your favorite musical or play?
For me, the best musical of all time, is "The Sound of Music", with Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer.
This musical is set in Salzburg, Austria, in the late 30's and is based mostly on the life of a novice named Maria, who is a very rebellious young woman in the convent. But her life will take a turn when she is sent to the mansion of Captain Von Trapp, a widower and captain of the Austrian Imperial Navy, to be the governess of 7 unruly children, whom no governess has been able to put up with and who have left in less than 24 hours.

Para mi, el mejor musical de todos los tiempos, es "El sonido de la música", con Julie Andrews y Christopher Plummer.
Este musical se desarrolla en Salzburgo, Austria, hacia finales de los años 30 y basa más que todo, en la vida de una novicia llamada María, quien es una joven muy rebelde dentro del convento. Pero su vida dará un giro cuando la envíen a la mansión del Capitán Von Trapp, viudo y capitán de la Marina Imperial austríaca, para ser la institutriz de 7 niños revoltosos, a los que ninguna institutriz ha podido aguantar y se han ido en menos de 24 horas.
Even though they did mischief to the new governess, the children will soon discover that they can trust her, because she will quickly endear herself to them.
Being such an irreverent girl, she will disregard the Captain's instructions about the education of her children, who pretends to treat them as if they were conscripts.

The Captain doubts that he has hired her as a nanny, but since he has to travel to Vienna to fetch his fiancée, he decides to postpone this problem.
The day after the Captain's trip, Maria takes the children on a tour of the city, teaching them to sing, as they did not know how. She takes them out every day, they have fun, they go to the mountains for a day of camping, she takes them on boat rides and bike rides. Maria changes the lives of these little ones.
El Capitán pone en duda el haberla contratado como niñera, pero como tiene que viajar a Viena a buscar a su prometida, decide posponer este problema.
Al día siguiente del viaje del Capitán, María lleva a los niños a recorrer la ciudad, enseñándoles a cantar, pues ellos no sabían hacerlo. Sus paseos se hacen todos los días, se divierten, van a las montañas a un día de camping, los lleva a pasear en bote, a andar en bicicleta. María les cambia la vida a esos pequeños.
And so the days go by and one of them, the Captain decides to return and finds that all the strict education he gave to his children, no longer exists and he has a strong fight with Maria and fires her from her job, until he hears the children singing for Baroness Schraeder and that song brought back such beautiful memories, that he sings with his children and is reconciled with their love.
It is then that she apologizes to the nanny and asks her not to leave.
From then on, joy floods the Von Trapp mansion.
Y así pasan los días y uno de ellos, el Capitán decide regresar y se consigue con que todo la educación estricta que le dio a sus niños, ya no existe y tiene una fuerte discusión con María y la despide de su trabajo, hasta que escucha a los niños cantar para la Baronesa Schraeder y esa canción le trajo tan bonitos recuerdos, que canta con sus hijos y se reconcilia con el amor de ellos.
Es entonces cuando le pide disculpas a la niñera y le pide que no se marche.
De aquí en adelante, la alegría inunda la mansión Von Trapp.
During a dance, Maria and the Captain realize that they are in love and she decides to return to the convent, because she was confused by her lack of love for God, leaving the children and the Captain very sad.
He then tells the children that he will marry the Baroness, leaving them even sadder. They then try to visit Maria at the convent, but she refuses to see anyone and the Mother Superior talks to her and tells her that she must return to seek the life she was born to live.
Maria happily returns to the mansion and learns of the engagement between the Captain and the Varonesa and is saddened again.
Durante un baile, María y el Capitán, se dan cuenta de que están enamorados y ella decide regresar al convento, porque se sentía confundida por faltarle a Dios, dejando a los niños y al Capitán muy tristes.
Entonces él le dice a los niños que se casará con la Baronesa, dejándolos a ellos más tristes aún. Entonces ellos tratan de visitar a María al convento, pero ella se niega a ver a nadie y la Madre Superiora habla con ella y le dice que debe regresar a buscar la vida para la que nació.
María muy contenta regresa a la mansión y se entera del compromiso entre el Capitán y la Varonesa y se entristece de nuevo.
It is then that the Captain breaks off his engagement to the Baroness and declares his love for Maria and to the joy of the children, they soon marry and go on their honeymoon.
Happiness is short-lived, because upon returning from their honeymoon, the Captain receives a telegram informing him that he must join the ranks of Adolf Hitler, to which he flatly refuses and they decide to leave everything behind, escaping through the mountains. This is the end of the musical film.
Es entonces que el Capitán rompe su compromiso con la Baronesa y declara su amor a María y para alegría de los niños, pronto se casan y se van de luna de miel.
La felicidad dura poco, porque al regresar de su luna de miel, el Capitán recibe un telegrama informándole que debe unirse a las filas de Adolf Hitler, a lo que él se niega rotundamente y deciden dejarlo todo atrás, escapando por las montañas. Este es el final de la película musical.

The best meal we always made together is the hallaca at Christmas.
I remember that we would sit around the table, the whole family, and each one of us would add one of the ingredients, until we reached the amarrado, which was made by my dad.
Definitely, Christmas in our family, and I know that in most families, is synonymous with sharing, laughter, color and tradition.

What is the hallaca?
The hallaca is very similar to a tamale and is prepared with a corn dough stuffed with beef and pork stew. The chicken is cooked separately.
They are garnished inside with olives, raisins, capers, paprika, onion, sweet or hot bell pepper and raisins. All these ingredients blend very well together, causing an explosion of delicious flavors for our palate.
All this is wrapped in banana leaves and steamed.
Hallacas are usually served with ham bread, pork leg and Russian salad.
¿Qué es la hallaca?
La hallaca es muy similar a un tamal y se prepara con una masa de maíz rellena, que lleva guiso de carne de res y puerco. El pollo se cocina aparte.
Se adornan por dentro con aceitunas, pasas, alcaparras, pimentón, cebolla, ají dulce o picante y pasitas. Todos estos ingredientes se fusionan muy bien entre sí, provocando una explosión de deliciosos sabores para nuestro paladar.
Todo esto se envuelve en hojas de plátano y se cocinan al vapor.
Las hallacas solemos acompañarlas con pan de jamón, pernil y ensalada rusa

I chose this movie, because since I saw it for the first time, I loved it. I was little, about 9 years old. And my sister, knowing that I loved it, bought me the movie at BETAMAX, hahahaha! Then, when that equipment went out of fashion, she changed it to VHS and now I have it on Blue Ray. It fascinates me, I know all the parliaments of each of the characters, the songs and I can recreate in my mind, any scene.
I love Julie Andrews' melodious voice and Christopher Plummer's when he sings Edelweiss. Simply a beautiful film.
