Another week another great challenge from the #Ladiesofhive community, finding 1 or 2 questions to answer. I love the variety of the quiz and the ability to choose one or both of the questions.

Today I lean towards one that I have studied passionately, for years I have followed the formation of my genealogical tree, looking for data, birth certificates, marriage certificates, relatives in the country of origin of my grandparents, cousins in other countries. It has been a great learning experience, I have already reached a limit that only with great studies could I exceed and by settling in Spain I could achieve.

I leave a great legacy of hours of research to my children and grandchildren.

As you will see from the photographic material, I have been preparing and accumulating data on births, weddings, names and statistics for years. It has been a very nice long learning journey.

Thanks to current technology I have located relatives in many parts of the world, exchanging information. In France I met a maternal cousin, she was so excited that she decided with the information I sent her to write a book about ancestors, when she had it ready she sent me a copy by post and dedication. It is in my library in a privileged place.

I started from a very young age with the concern of knowing my ancestors, I started writing their names and little by little I managed to add other data to them, managing to reach a certain stage of the tree I could no longer reach higher, the people who had that information were no longer . So some cousins gave me some marriage certificates that allowed me to get a little more.

As an advice that I give you, take advantage of the oldest of the family to write down names and surnames, they are the best sources of information, they can always complement it with family records.

A delicate part that we find when we elaborate the complete genealogical tree is that we can find some secrets such as adoptions and even a relative takes care of another relative.

We begin by capturing ascending family members, such as great-great-grandparents, great-grandparents, grandparents, and parents.

Then we place the descendants of these same ancestors, these are the uncles, cousins, nephews, brothers of the person who makes the scheme and that same subject.

How a family tree can help us:

We determine what types of illnesses they suffered and how they can affect us.
It helps us to know our origins and roots, where we come from.

Direct ancestor tree: this contains the direct line of the father and mother and the four grandparents. Siblings, uncles, cousins, etc. are not reflected.
Mixed tree: this is the most traditional and in which both ascendants and descendants can be plotted, it is the most complete.
Tree of ancestors of the agnatic line: this will only take the line of male ancestors.
Tree of ancestors of cognatic line: in this only the line of female ascendants is graphed.

Hopefully this post will motivate you to develop your family tree, in schools children are encouraged to do this fun little task from an early age.

Otro semana otro estupendo reto de la comunidad #Ladiesofhive, encontrando 1 o 2 preguntas a contestar. Me encanta la variedad del concurso y la posibilidad de escoger una de las preguntas o las dos.

Hoy me inclino por una que he estudiado apasionadamente, durante años he seguido la formación de mi árbol genealógico, buscando datos, partidas de nacimiento, actas de matrimonio, parientes en el país de origen de mis abuelos, primos en otros países. Ha sido todo un bonito aprendizaje, ya llegue a un tope que solamente con grande estudios podría rebasar e instalándome en España podría lograr.

Les dejo un gran legado de horas de investigación a mis hijos y nietos.

Dos interrogantes ¿Cuál es tu árbol genealógico? Cuéntanos sobre este, y la segunda pregunta ¿Cuál es la casa o habitación de tus sueños?

Como verán por el material fotográfico llevo años preparando y acumulando datos de nacimientos, bodas, nombres y estadísticas. Ha sido un largo recorrido muy bonito de aprendizaje.

Gracias a la tecnología actual he localizado parientes en muchas partes del mundo, intercambiando información. En Francia encontré una prima materna, se emocionó tanto que decidió con la información que le envié escribir un libro sobre antepasados, cuando lo tuvo listo me envió una copia por correo y dedicatoria. Está en mi biblioteca en un lugar privilegiado.

Yo comencé desde muy joven con la inquietud de conocer a mis ancestros, comencé escribiendo sus nombres y poco a poco logre agregarles otros datos, logrando llegar hasta cierta etapa del árbol ya no podía llegar más arriba, las personas que tenían esa información ya no estaban. Así que algunos primos me aportaron algunas actas de matrimonio que me permitió llegar un poco más.

Como consejo que les doy aprovechen a los más antiguos de la familia para anotar nombres y apellidos, ellos son las mejores fuentes de información, siempre podrán complementarlo con actas familiares.

Una parte delicada que nos encontramos cuando elaboramos el árbol genealógico completo es que podemos encontrarnos algunos secretos como adopciones y hasta un familiar se hace cargo de otro pariente.

Comenzamos por plasmar a los familiares ascendentes, como los tatarabuelos, bisabuelos, abuelos y padres.

Luego colocamos los descendientes de estos mismos ancestros, estos son los tíos, primos, sobrinos, hermanos de la persona que hace el esquema y ese mismo sujeto.

En que nos puede ayudar un árbol genealógico:

Determinamos qué tipo de enfermedades sufrieron y de qué forma pueden afectarnos a nosotros.
Nos ayuda a conocer nuestros orígenes y raíces, de dónde venimos.

Árbol de antepasados directos: este contiene la línea directa del padre y la madre y los cuatro abuelos. No se reflejan los hermanos, tíos, ni primos, etc.
Árbol mixto: este es el más tradicional y en el cual se pueden graficar tanto los ascendientes como los descendientes es el más completo.
Árbol de antepasados de línea agnaticia: este solo tomará la línea de los ascendientes varones.
Árbol de antepasados de línea cognaticia: en este solo se grafica la línea de los ascendentes femeninos.

Ojalá este post los motive a elaborar su árbol genealógico, en la escuelas a los niños desde pequeños los animan a realizar esta pequeña y divertida tarea.
