Before the rains!

When a downpour is approaching, nature lets you know.
This old wives tale has some truth to it. When a storm is approaching, the humidity soars, causing the stems of trees that lose their leaves in the fall to become floppy. Those leaves, when rustled by the breeze, reveal their undersides¹ without their typical firmness.

Orange Tree

One of the most recognizable varieties of citrus trees are orange trees, which have fragrant flower displays and full, green canopies. The most delightful fruit produced throughout the growing season is the best of all.

Because orange trees are self-fertile, they can yield fruit without the help of another orange tree. They include high levels of potassium, B vitamins, C, and D vitamins. The fruit can be eaten straight off the tree or used to a variety of recipes.

Greenhouse Roses

Aren't these roses lovely? Roses are very hardy and they don't need greenhouses, especially in California. But I always wondered about greenhouses.

Beautiful roses may grow throughout the winter with the correct conditions of heat, water, heat, and fertilizer. Growing flowers in a greenhouse is a great idea. One of the best things about greenhouses is that they may be heated or cooled to promote ideal plant development. Beautiful roses can grow all winter long if the proper conditions are met.

Growing roses in the winter is challenging because to the low temperatures and lack of sunlight. That's the perfect purpose for a greenhouse. A greenhouse's consistent humidity and temperature make it the perfect place for plant growth. It also shields the plant from elements that could harm or destroy a rose bush, such as wind, rain, (or snow) frost, or hail.

Too bad that orange trees can't thrive up here above the 49th parallel. My eldest loves oranges. There are a few indoor miniature varieties these are known not to taste very well, they are considered as ornamental.

Greenhouses can be an answer, but they also can be hotter because of the closed in space. Cooling it to make sure the roses don't burn might could be cost prohibitive depending on the cost of electricity. Wintertime for you might be easier to do since although it cools down, if I'm correct, it doesn't get too awfully cold there. How cold does it get?

Anyway, I would love. much bigger greenhouse than the tiny one I have. I'd see what I could get to grow better in it. It can be hard as our place doesn't get much direct sunlight, but is often too cool overnight to get a lot of produce out of the plants.
