Good morning, Hivers.
It’s been a long while. I am sitting in a coffee shop near my house, looking on the feed for the very first time in a while. I just happened to miss it, and this is the first thing I chose to browse this morning: https://hive.blog , seeing all the same faces, same names, literally reminding me of another online home that I always hung out at every day.
Also, one of the first things I saw was Hive Fest, which makes me miss the vibes even more. So close to Thailand as well so I'm thinking of attending.. https://hivefe.st
Miss it, truly.... I think maybe it’s time..
Since I was here last, a lot has changed.
I remember it was still the time when I had just moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand, and was living the semi-nomad life in my own country, and somehow happened to open a cannabis dispensary with my boyfriend and a few friends. The idea back then was also to accept crypto, and yes, we made it happen. People can pay with crypto at the Spot Cannabis Dispensary, but that was just the beginning.
Things have changed so much. A lot of things have also happened, and here, if you don’t mind me sharing, I would love to gather all the story, long story short, in one post.
Then I was just another woman living my life, enjoying it to the fullest for the sake of enjoying it. Now I am a mother of one of the most beautiful babies, Kaelyn Love
Still living my busy life, but now I’m a busy mom living with a purpose, and I try to live every day with her as the most meaningful days. I feel so lucky I have her <3
During the pregnancy was literally a whole different life experience. It was hard (couldn't do anything for the first 3 months) and different. They say that my belly was one of the biggest pregnancy bellies they’ve seen that is not a twin. I literally gained 20 kilos during the pregnancy, and still look fat (and pretty, yes) until now, after 8 months of giving birth. So much to tell so maybe another whole big post on the pregnancy if anyone at all interested in knowing :)
Being a mom is interesting, and I think I have become obsessed. I always want to find a community or somewhere where I can rely or relate to, even thinking of creating a group in Chiang Mai here for moms. But now that I’m writing here on Hive, thinking would it be a good idea to create a community of moms for us to share some tips, some stories, or anything at all about this passion or the love of being a mom. That would be interesting, and that would totally be somewhere where I hang out almost every day, and enjoy sharing mommy stuff and baby stuff. Thoughts?
Then, I was living… houseless. Now we have a house where we can really call 'Home'
Like, I mean, we were still living in houses back then, but not my own house. Always rented places a few months here and there, and moved when I got bored. When I knew I was pregnant, we were actively looking for a place to live, somewhere we could actually call home. None of the places I feel like I would like to live long-term with my baby.
Suddenly, literally just a few weeks before the baby comes, we found a place a little bit out of town, so 40 minutes from Chiang Mai City, but we got space outside, and the house was already there. It’s a small house, but come on, we’re just a small family. We can always expand and do something nice about it.
The space was beautiful. When in a house and looking outside the window, every single window is green out there, that’s what I love about it. It’s also in a dead-end alley, so not so many people pass by, which is nice for privacy. What we love the most is the area outside, where we think we can do a lot of stuff out there, either farming, doing our own vegetable garden, and when the time comes, the baby can just run around in the yard as well.
An imagination of a beautiful life, and hopefully it will come true. (We're working on it)
Then, our cannabis dispensary in a 5-story building was just another cannabis dispensary. Now, we have all 5 floors running businesses.
The first floor is a cannabis dispensary. Not to brag but probably top 5 of the Dispensaries in Chiang Mai :)
The second floor is a lounge where people can come hang out or rent the space to host some events or anything at all. We have held a few events already, including a cannabis farmer market a few months back, which went well.
The third and fourth floors, we have now turned into an Airbnb rental from short to mid term. If you are ever in Chiang Mai, check them out. We are literally located in the center of Nimman area of Chiang Mai, which is easy to get to anywhere and has so many things to do around, like cafes, restaurants, temples, mountains, and everything.
The fifth floor, we turned into one of the most beautiful view rooftop cafe and bars of Chiang Mai, where you can enjoy one of the best latte art by our award-winning latte art champion of Thailand, while enjoying a conversation overlooking the view of Doi Suthep temple, one of the most famous temples in Chiang Mai as well.
So, this turned into my proud brick-and-mortar businesses.
Then, I was trying hard with the new career of being a web design freelancer, and literally making just enough to live month by month. Now it's a bit different :)
I have constant clients and workload coming in from a few different angles and sources. I am now a certified Fiverr Pro for Webflow website development, and among the top freelancers based on contra ranking. So far I have already designed and/or built 100 websites over these past years. A lot of my clients also come back for more work.
I have also recently started an endeavour, DesignDrippers.co, and hopefully, it will start gaining traction. DesignDrippers is now a small team. I have formed a few people and distribute some parts of the work. A pretty good scaling from my end, and I have to say.. I am proud of it.
This is still somewhat in progress, and planning on expanding it and developing it further. Finger crossed!
Life has been going well in my mid-30s (34 to be exact omgggg!). I feel like a lot of things can still be improved and developed further. I think something even better is about to happen :)
Coming back to Hive this time reminds me of some good old feeling. I am excited to start sharing and communicating, having a hobby once again. About the mummy-baby community, I totally mean it. If someone is actually reading this and interested in doing it together, I'm all UP FOR IT!
The hive fest as well. 100% would love to attend. Hopefully we can make it. Would love to bring my little one to enjoy a festival for her very first time, and also maybe out of the country for the very first time as well.
I hope all is well, and I will be browsing through posts to see what has changed on Hive and what I have missed these past months.
