Some people speak so sweetly that you instantly feel connected to them.
Their words, their attitude, and their fake care seem so genuine that you start considering them your own. But time has a strange way of revealing the truth hidden behind every face.
I have met many people in my life who only come close when they need something.
Morning and evening messages, asking how you are, giving compliments, making promises of support — everything feels real until their purpose is fulfilled. Once they get what they want, their behavior slowly changes. The attention fades, the warmth disappears, and the connection no longer feels the same.
At first, it used to hurt me a lot.
I would wonder if maybe the problem was in me, or maybe I was just bad at understanding people. But with time, I realized that not everyone builds relationships from the heart. Some people only stay as long as they are benefiting from you. The moment the benefit ends, the relationship ends too.
I once had a friend who always stayed around me.
He would contact me over the smallest things, talk about big dreams, and make me feel like he truly cared about me. But one day, when I actually needed him, he disappeared completely. No call, no message, not even a simple question asking if I was okay. That day felt strange and heavy. When someone you truly trust suddenly changes, even silence starts to feel loud.
Slowly, I learned one important thing:
not everyone who speaks sweetly is sincere. Real people are the ones who stay beside you during hard times, whether there is any benefit for them or not. The rest only come close for temporary comfort or personal gain.
These days, I do not let people into my heart too quickly.
First, I give them time. I observe their behavior and try to understand their intentions. Words have become very cheap nowadays, but sincerity is still rare and expensive.
Life has taught me that not every changing person is evil; some people simply reveal their real face with time. And maybe that is better, because recognizing fake people early can save you from bigger pain later.
Now, I prefer greeting such friends from a distance…
because the heart does not have the strength to break again and again.
