If…

If I could get a second chance at something, it would be the moments I rushed through because I thought being “busy” made me important.

I’d go back to the mornings I skipped breakfast with people I loved because there were “things to do.”

I’d answer the phone instead of letting it ring out because I was tired.

I’d slow down long enough to see who was actually showing up for me - and who I was exhausting myself for.

I’d give myself the chance to pause.
To breathe.
To choose the moments that matter instead of the ones that drain me.

And the thing I’d never relive again - even if someone offered me a perfect do-over - is the version of me who tried to earn love by overgiving.

The one who spent birthdays waiting for messages that never came.

The one who sat in an Uber after a long day, wondering why it felt like everyone else had someone to lean on except me.

That chapter taught me a lot, yes.

But I wouldn’t go back to her.

She was hurting quietly and hoping someone would notice.

And now?

I’d rather walk forward with the woman who finally does notice -
me!

I miss to some of the things you say that hug that I forgot to give, the phone call skipped when I was busy... especially because now the people I want to hear and hug it's no more here .
