Las vacaciones son momentos que todos añoramos ya sea para viajar o no, son esos momentos en que nos olvidamos de todo un poco y nos concentramos más en compartir con los nuestros, algunos nos enfocamos en pasear, viajar para conocer otras personas, otras culturas, en fin todo es cuestión de lo queramos hacer, en esta fecha de navidad para algunos son de mucha alegría, pero para otros es tristeza ya que han perdido familiares debido a la pandemia.
Vacations are moments that we all long for whether to travel or not, are those moments when we forget about everything a little and we concentrate more on sharing with our loved ones, some of us focus on walking, traveling to meet other people, other cultures, in short everything is a matter of what we want to do, at this time of Christmas for some are of great joy, but for others it is sadness because they have lost family members due to the pandemic.

Realmente no me gusta viajar, por lo que prefiero quedarme en casa, ya sea para disfrutar de una buena película o compartir en familia, hay oportunidades en las que salimos de paseo para centros comerciales a disfrutar de un ambiente diferente, en estas vacaciones de navidad, lo comparto más en casa de mi mamá donde viven también mis hermanas, allí nos reunimos para hacer cualquier cosa que se nos ocurra, donde cada quien pone un granito de arena para pasar un rato agradable, nos reunimos para planear y luego hacer lo de la cena navideña, de como nos vamos a organizar y que es lo que vamos a hacer. Gracias a Dios que toda mi familia está aquí en mí país y vivimos todos cerca, la única persona que ya no está con nosotros es mi papá, pero todos los demás tenemos la oportunidad de un día mas de vida gracias a Dios.
I really do not like to travel, so I prefer to stay at home, either to enjoy a good movie or share with family, there are times when we go for a walk to shopping malls to enjoy a different environment, in these Christmas vacations, I share more at my mom's house where my sisters also live, there we meet to do whatever we can think of, where everyone puts a grain of sand to have a good time, we meet to plan and then do the Christmas dinner, how we are going to organize and what we will do. Thank God that all my family is here in my country and we all live close by, the only person who is no longer with us is my dad, but all the rest of us have the opportunity of one more day of life thanks to God.

Oh Dios !!!!! me gusta toda la comida navideña, me refiero a todo el plato completo, hallacas, pan de jamón, ensalada y más si es de gallina, el pernil que no puede faltar y en salsa negra, nosotros en ocasiones solemos hornear pato, claro siempre y cuando se pueda, y por supuesto acompañado de unas gaseosas, porque me gusta??? bueno, porque es un plato super delicioso, porque lo hacemos en familia y con amor, y porque es una tradición de mi país. Eso es lo que sería la comida navideña, para el postre, cosa que tambíen hacemos y que lo consideramos parte de la tradición son las tortas negras, cuando no hacemos este tipo de tortas, hacemos una normal, también hacemos galletas, cosa que a los niños les encanta.

I like all the Christmas food, I mean the whole dish, hallacas, ham bread, salad and more if it is chicken, the pernil that can not miss and in black sauce, we sometimes bake duck, of course as long as you can, and of course accompanied by some soft drinks, because I like??? well, because it is a super delicious dish, because we do it in family and with love, and because it is a tradition of my country. That is what would be the Christmas meal, for dessert, something that we also do and that we consider part of the tradition are the black cakes, when we do not make this type of cakes, we make a normal one, we also make cookies, which the children love.

I have to agree with you; I prefer staying at home as well. My grown children and their wives are coming to us this year, but the one furthest away is just a 2 hour drive. It's the first time since 2019 that we are gathering as a family for Christmas due to Corona.

I am fortunate that the the majority of my siblings and family are within a car trip from one another as I am reluctant to travel far from my home.
Looking at the ingredients for Hallacas I think my older son would like it since he has a food intolerance to Wheat products, the banana leaves will be a little challenge to find.
