It is a distribution problem - and alt-account self-votes still happen by proxy, I think we both are smart enough to know that - through networks of individuals - and a relationship graph will often show that - where acct 1 spends the bulk of its vp on acct 2, and its a mirror!
so self-votes still happen a lot as it is, so we should increase it?
or increase curation split vs author rewards?
Maybe go 40/40/20 and 20 goes to the DHF - which gets redistributed by merit or "Grants" to content creators who provably bring new eyeballs to hive?
Thinking out of the box.
the dhf gets enough as it is i think, doubt it ever even needed steemit's ninja stake considering we never spend more than ~16k per day with 70% of that being hbdstabilizer.
I'd encourage more use towards initiatives like posh/spendhbd and other things that benefit all hivers
The idea is spitballing - if that 20% of author rewards were used to "commission" new content for hive (not content about hive) - eg: Longreads about ice cream trucks, that could bring higher quality content to the chain - and more eyeballs, and perhaps, more value to hive.
part could also be to re-reward content that gets traffic again but is past 7 days age
i mean feel free to spit ball ideas but not sure limited letter snaps are the best place for this, lol
I don't think snaps is the right place either, but its a spark :P I don't want to write about hive - I just want to see awesome content "Made possible by hive"
