Since you are involved with this project, how do you feel Hive is doing in regards to comments? Is it hard for you to choose what is a topcomment because of a small pool or is it easy because there are many good comments each day?

I think there is a group Hivers that is really engaging a lot. We have enough comments to upvote every day. I did lower the character threshold recently, so we would have a bit more choice.
