Interestingly enough though, I learned that solar panels don't do well in very hot climates. They're designed to absorb the light, but their hardware doesn't handle heat well. Which is why many desert countries don't really use solar as much as one would imagine.

I looked up some numbers. It mentions that panel efficiency could reduce by up to 15% at 60C, compared to 25C, but as you are probably also getting more solar radiation the output could be similar. I expect that panels for hot countries take account of the heat.
We do have a very high solar radiation. Although our particular coastal area is also cursed with extended periods of overcast (can be months). So we definitely lose some efficiency throughout the year.
Modern panels work pretty well from ambient light so mine here in the UK do something even when it is cloudy. They are on the west side so will not get direct sun in the morning yet generate something all day. Can't change the weather, but can try to set panels up to be optimal.
Cold and sunny winter days are the best.
I didn't know about that, but it makes a lot of sense.
