there are some similarities, but not quite.
Sosso Bala
Sosso bala is still a type of balafon... but also much more sophisticated than our mystery instrument.
Remember it can also be played with bare hands. Ypu can hear it in he second half of the audio
it's the mother of balafons... ancient and can/is played with bare hands
if it's not it. i just can't think of anything else here. 🤷😏
