Yes, a store bought purple onion.
Apparently, in the second year of being planted they make these seed pods.
Tons of green all around.

I had to abandon it, I won't likely see it again until the middle of next year.
I can assure you that the folks I left it with have done nothing with it.
I might entertain a bet as to whether they have even looked at it.
They don't go outside much.
