I peek back over there now and again. I know it's possible to go back, I just haven't seen any reason to. It looks like a lame version of Hive with a smaller group of whales.
The reward distribution there is fair, and you would definitely earn no less there, especially since you can be in both. The whales there are no less powerful, and as for the lol version, it's exactly the opposite... If you were robbed, like Hive, what would your apartment look like? :)
For the brief time I was on Steem, the reward distribution was even less fair than Hive has right now. I find it pretty hard to believe that they've fixed it.

Personally, no one is robbing you. You're robbing yourself, being a minnow and earning less than a dollar a week.
And I and countless other bloggers are being deprived of the opportunity to earn money on a supposedly decentralized platform, which is an outright lie.
WTF are you talking about? You have the opportunity to earn everywhere here, even on that ridiculous comment. Just because nobody likes it doesn't mean you have no opportunity.
