It's a big place here with wildly different pricing for some things depending on region.

Ye I know.
Its not the same as here in Europe xD

Much much bigger! :D

You dont have Solarpanels?

Not at my parent's house. The electric companies here have a credit system that makes selling back to them worthless and you can't cash out if you produce more than you use.

Okay? Sounds weird. How does the credit system work?

I am not sure if its worth it to sell it back to the companies here either, but at least your Electricity bill will get reduced if you do so.

We looked at the cost of install and all that one year and determined it wasn't worth it for us. The per kwh cost is pretty cheap here so it takes too long to pay back to be worth it. Roof needs to be replaced first making it even more pricey.

I do know that in warmer places quite a lot of houses have it because their costs are higher and it ends up being worth it. The credit system kind of ruins it.

36 years?!
Thats fking insane.

I dont know if there is a fee here, I don't think so.

But if you provide solar to the grid, you get paid a little bit of money, now if everybody is doing that and we have too much power.
We pay the utility Company to get rid of our power xD

What. Crazy the payment periode is so long :p

Over here it takes around 7-8 years to be paid back :D
