Funny how many people don't inspect their cars properly for rust before second or third-hand purchase. Or perhaps they don't care.
A simple peek in the underneath of the car would reveal some of this.

I'd be willing to day they just don't know to look. I wouldn't have thought about it either most likely. But for sure from now on... I'll be looking under!
I always advise to take an automobile mechanic, if possible, for inspection when purchasing. Even if one doesn't know what to check out for, a good one should help out.
I wish I'd done that before I bought my car! I took it for test drive it seemed fine. But 3 months later the ipdm went out and had to replace it. The mechanic told me apparently he could tell someone had already tried diagnosing the problem.🤦 But no worries it's fixed now!
