Does not use phone battery (this one)... that's the other ones that have idiot commercials... This one also has, but is very, very random or when you want, and you can skip them if you wish (by closing the app and reopening it again).
When are they showing commercials? Without knowing it, I would say it could be to convert steps into rewards?
