I barely get them. I think it is mainly a matter of how private you keep your phone number. Data leaks are quite regular, so the more sites you share your number with, the more likely it will get that scammers will get access to it sooner or later.
I don't give away my number a lot, but my telecom provider had a hugendata leak recently 🤨
I stopped taking phone calls from unknown callers because of that exact reason
The thing is that I sometimes expect phonecalls from people I don't have a number from.
And apart from that it's annoying that I get incoming calls I must ignore.
I can't block them because they do use 'normal' phone numbers.

Here we get spams as well as scam calls looting the innocent people so easily.
That's so sad.
Happens way too much these days.
Personally I only answer if the number calling looks important. And I never say my name when I answer. I also change my voice, just in case it's some AI voice cloning scam

I never thought about the AI cloning, but I don't say my name when I decide to pick one up.
Today I picked one up and stayed silence for a while. I heard nobody and the call got disconnected after 30 seconds. Maybe that is a good tactic 😀
Haha! Yeah, that's a great tactic. I did that too previously. Helps keeping annoying scam people away for a while 😃
I began thinking about the cloning when I heard a story about a father who heard his daughter be on the phone... with him! And she was told to open the front door.
That shit will not be happening with me and my daughter, too scary shit that is. It was even his phone number that called her.

We have set a 'secret word' in our family if we have doubts.
I've also instructed my daughters to say that word when they call me and feel unsafe.
When they drop that normal word in a sentence it's a sign for me they need help.
That is absolutely brilliant!
