I thought the English spirit was gin :) And that you guys drank it more than water back in its heyday.
It was known as mother's ruin. I think we got it from the Dutch. Now it's so trendy. I'll stick to whisky.
I only recently discovered gin, all credit to @honeydue. I'm not sure how trendy it is in continental Europe, but it can definitely be an interesting beverage if you look beyond the supermarket shelves.
It's all in a day's work, spreading the good booze ;)
Iβm tempted to learn to make Gin. Thereβs a school for it here in Leeds.
