I have seen a lot of people say they want financial freedom, but sometimes getting there requires sacrificing time, relationships, sleep, or even the things we all genuinely enjoy. At what point does chasing financial freedom stop being worth the life you're sacrificing to get it?

Sort: Β

My family means everything to me so for me, when it get to a point where I have no time for them or feel distant away from the bond we share, it's a significant sign for me to know that I am heading too far and have to take a pause

So family first over financial freedom?

They intertwine.... I can't choose money over my family and I can't leave money out as well

Most especially when it's not even yielding the intended result and it just feels like I'm running with no stop or break.

This is still understandable. But what if the results are so massive?

You don't get my point yet.... I'll chase financial freedom but not at the expense of losing the bond I have with my family.... (Asapajude)

Financial freedom and stability requires a lot of sacrifice but then, not at the cost of losing my loved ones and the bond we share

In order words, you will choose loved ones over financial freedom.

Not choosing over. I choose them together
This one isn't about eating cake and having it

And a lot of the people who want financial freedom don't even realize what is required to gain it. It's why only few actually succeed in gaining financial freedom so it's not something many, only the ones who can will go for it.

What do you think is required to gain it?

Financial freedom is a very subjective success, there are people who don't have to do all that sacrificing to enjoy wealth and financial freedom. Some people in contentment can be more financially free than those who struggle to gain it.

And some people were born into financial freedom so they don't need to worry about it again.

Exactly. Some so-called sacrifices are not worth it in the name of financial Freedom

At all.

But yeah, there might be a limit to whatever we are after even though it totally depends on each individual. To some, there are no limits, they are after financial freedom giving everything it requires.

Do you think you have a limit?

But for those who believe they can gain financial freedom regardless of the amount of sacrifice they give, the point where they have to sacrifice their health to gain wealth should be a stop or a limit. And that's what I believe too.

That is not something good. Health for financial freedom is a deadend man

If it will threaten or damage any part of my health, I will put a stop to it and gain that freedom in some other way. I need my health to enjoy the financial freedom.

Absolutely πŸ’―πŸ’―

It's true.

What exactly is true?
Kindly share

For me, health and meaningful relationships shouldn’t be the price of financial freedom... we still need a life to enjoy that freedom once we get there. 😁

You are right on point

Thanks πŸ‘

You are welcome

Like God bless you... When the money comes, it's sure that you will long for love from people you once detached from

Exactly... money can be earned, but rebuilding meaningful relationships may not be so easy.

I like your thinking.
Sometimes when a relationship is faulty, it will be very hard to rebuild it

True... that’s why meaningful relationships are worth taking care of before the damage becomes difficult to repair.

πŸ’―πŸ’―

Yeahh everything is not about money

Yeah especially when it's a genuine one
