Thats a beautiful area to live in! I never been there, but i have clients who are big hikers and thry sent me photos form those regions... id love to take my telesope up north and have a better look at the galaxies.
Mt. Spokane is the tallest point nearby, and might be a good summer observation point if they allow you to stay at the lodge overnight, but I think they close at dusk. You might try the Quartz Mountain Fire Lookout though.
Yeah, that's definitely a great spot. Id I ever get another chance to buy/build my own house somewhere, the location and the construction will factor in my love for astronomy. My current location and house are not astronomy friendly.
