Web2 social media makes me despair for the future. It's painfully obvious most don't really hold certain positions because they built on a foundation of first principles and reason, but because they identify with vague emotions and group allegiance.

Web 2.0 should be forgotten by now.
Facebook, YouTube, etc. have a massive market share and a certain inertia from being established for so long. The majority is not yet disgusted enough by ads, algorithms, censorship, and surveillance. Progress is painfully slow.
