You owe it to yourself to read this short book. Economics in One Lesson by Henry Hazlitt will scrape away the layers of misinformation that is public discourse, and reveal a better way to examine the issues of today just like it did almost 80 years ago.

The book is on the page in HTML. Free PDFs abound, too. The key point is summed up in the preface, and expanded upon in subsequent chapters: the bad economist looks only at the stated immediate purpose of a policy instead of its long-term consequences and unseen effects.
Since it is a short book I will try to read it
