It sounds very cliché, but it's completely true. I've recently tried to find similar or better Web3 platforms and found nothing. They either ask for money, impose absurd requirements, impose regional limitations, or charge high network fees. There are always some limitations.

That's right, we just need to be consistent, interact, and generate quality content.
And if you don't like writing, you can make videos, play games, invest, etc.

Hive should run ads, to support the reward pool
lots of people here hate ads. which sadly has hurt the blockchain. people are used to advertising and it would be a great revenue stream. inleo tried it but never fully embraced it.
No ads. Ads changes governance and force creators to fit what the advertisers want. If anything, we should stand proud that we dont have any. The only ads i support are ads for Hive on other SM.
Just have to look at the history here....
Every decision has brought us to this point. Are we ok with how things are here? Or should we adapt to the world, not the world adapt to Hive.
How much can one of us expect to earn on other social medias that are ran by advertisement?
We dont need to model Hive after them - we need to be the solution to the problem that they pose.
i personally think that’s the main reason hive has never taken off and adopted. we have tried to make the world adapt to our blockchain and the intricacies of it. rather than making this more ‘normie’ focused and catering to the audience we try to attract
I hear you, but then how are we better than other social media? How can we offer an alternative to the old models, if we pretty much emulate the same thing? Hive is sooo much more than just any one thing... its hard to box it, and its both a blessing and a curse.
You can't compare what those platforms that run ads pays creator to what hive pays creators. Hive deosn't have the capacity to pay creators up to what those platform pays. You only rely on daily reward pools from extra minted $hive tokens, which eventually increases the supply and lead to useless values, but when running ads, you generate more revenue. Can you compare hive to Facebook or even X, Telegram or Instagram?
do you know how much these platforms are generating from advertisement? You guys are killing the system and every pressure is on just one reward pool, and that's nothing but failure in the long run. Every business needs to have more than one source of revenue to sustain.
there should should be subscribers for special content. There should be all forms of content distribution including live streaming and direct advertisement services. I made $,1000 from one new platform which is also a blockchain related platforms that goes to operate like Hive, but they offer so many content, and you don't even need too many write ups or long form articles to earn. And they amazing thing was that ads was showing on every single content that i uploaded. I withdrew my earnings in usdc directly to my wallet. I earn up to $1,000 within 2 weeks.
How many creators on hive can be proud of $50 in 1 week? greedy whales have shared the upvotes to themselves and their relatives. The system here is bad. You do better wake up and do what is best. ads is the new oil well.
