I thought they use to behave like ants by storing up food for low seasons?
They do store food, but it looks like this one decided to have a snack.
He looks almost black. Is it the lighting or are they that dark?
Most of ours are gray or a combo of browns.
These are completely black, but we also have gray ones running around. There's a lot of nature in the urban spaces, so they're a common sight throughout the city.

I saw it pick up the nut, then it ran to the mushroom and stood there eating.
That squirrel is very good and waited for the photo, ha ha ha.
It was very patient while I took out my phone and took the snap. :)
