Noticing auto-votes died?
Look around. For nearly a decade I've been pointing out the severe lack of consumers on this platform.
Do you believe me now?
As soon as those auto-votes come back, people will say the problem is fixed.
And I will disagree for another 10 years.
oh they did?
Appears to be that way. Noticed some in my feed with lower than usual votes. Checked the recent feed and it appears auto votes have been off for awhile.
Am I seeing things? lol
dunno, i noticed taraz barely had any votes which I found strange, haven't noticed anything other than that
Appears they've been down for several hours. Someone in my shortform feed joked about it about 3 hours ago. They mentioned hive.vote service is down. My guess is hard fork prep. We've seen that before.
Can see the lack of consumers though. I've always wanted to fix that.
Saw it too yesterday. My post didn't get a single vote for 45 minutes after publishing haha.
It is a good reminder of who your "core" audience is. :)
The autovotes are just artefacts the reefs slowly influencing the waves.
Autovotes seem to create the illusion of a vibrant, busy, supportive community. Peel back that layer, and it's easy to see the severe lack of consumers when you look at the bigger picture.
I'm not opposed to autovotes. The shortage of consumers creates several problems.
I've posted in the past that anyone using an autovote service that isn't code they run on their own machine deserves to lose their keys - because they, like many creators, are just extracting value from something they don't bother to look at. If hive matters, content must too.
No amount of micromanaging the current user base will solve the problem. The culture here generally doesn't see consumers as active, engaged, contributing members — which is unfortunate, because those users are the ones who bring their wallets with them.
The next part is figuring out if any of the content has any value to anyone. I often wonder if people are afraid of new creators joining because it will expose how shit some content here really is.
When quality acts bring part of their paying audience and observers with them, they expand the market and give others a stronger chance to succeed.
A browser extension could also be used to tie these systems to other platforms. That way creators can stay where they are.
Tesla Auto-Votes cumming Soon
Fancy schmancy
I just gave you a manual vote even though i hadn’t noticed the autovotes had gone anywhere, can you explain what’s going on a little bit more in detail. Frankly your snap was confusing to me, autovotes going and coming back vs problem and fixed??
Content creators outnumber content consumers on this platform and always have. This is doing business backwards and is the catalyst for several problems which I can't fit into this box.
Not sure why they're off. My guess is for upcoming hard fork prep.
