It's a little less green on the east side. Oregon and Washington are divided by the Cascade Mountain Range that acts as a rain shadow. The satellite map shows the wetter/greener west side vs the drier/browner east. Storms off the pacific lose a lot of water crossing the mounts.

After 40 plus years on the wet side I moved east to be a little drier. ;)

The drier climate was part of it. A little less crowded over here too. A chance to explore new places. :)

I can totally see why less crowd is a big plus, also moved outside our town to a smaller village.
City has its charm but I am kinda over that now :)

Where I was at was a lot of urban sprawl. The little town I was in changed so much in the 40 years I was there I couldn't recognize it anymore. It was time for a change. :)
