Despite the messy work area (lol) I was able to digitize an old cassette tape of my grandmother reminiscing about her life. She was born in 1893 so there is some pretty incredible stories and family history in the musings. :)

Cool!
I agree! :)
That's a super cool project, historic and deeply personal.
You are right, I love the history aspect of the project and to have it tied to family makes it that much better. :)
That's so cool. Definitely a lot of gold on those tapes.
No doubt. Looking forward to finishing up my review of the tapes. :)
This is special to your family. Technology does make life beautiful 😍
I was surprised it was fairly easy and no cost to get it done. :)
Very cool project. You saved priceless memories that you can pass on even to your grandchildren.
No doubt about that. :)
That's so neat! I miss my grandparents wish I could hear their stories now.
Yeah, I have so many questions to ask both grandparents and parents but unfortunately I'm left trying to piece it all together from old pics and documnts that are left. Not complaining though it is kind of fun. :)
Least you have documents and pictures. I have my grandmother's Bible. She wrote all in it. I love reading her notes
What would we do without technology? Thanks goodness. You will listening to that tape for a long time, keeping her memory alive.
Next step is try to find some AI to make a transcript. The first one I tried was quite funny but no where near accurate to what she was saying. lol
Such a nice work you did.
A great way to preserve memories beyond time.
Yeah, should last longer than a cassette tape, I hope. :)
Very likely, I think.
1893? is that the gilded age? WOW.
According to Wiki it was late 1870's to late 1890's so it was during that time. However my grandmother was born in England and didn't come to the US until after WW1. Sounds like the gilded age was a US thing.
Learned something today. :)

Wow, that’s priceless! 🎙️ Preserving your grandmother’s voice from 1893 is truly special.
The tape is from 1981 when she was about 88. She did have a memory of going to India when she was 6 in 1899. :)
