A scene from the 1950's. A picture my dad took of the crowd gathering for the Hydro-plane races on Lake Washington in Seattle, Washington.

For a second there, the blimp and the lamplights tricked my brain into thinking it was UFOs. Those vehicles on the road are so cool. No one has a phone. :)

It was a different time that's for sure. :)

A scene from life on its journey, which transforms from memory to emerge in its essence and relive it over time, thanks to the magic of photography. Thank you for sharing it 👋😀

You're welcome, I'm lucky to have a lot of these old memories laying around. :)

Wonderful news, I'll be on the lookout. Happy Friday! 😊

Same to you!

So your father stored and reserved such image down to this day? He is a museum on his own lolz 😂😂😂. My greetings to him. Hope he is still alive?

Sadly he passed in 2004. My labor of love was starting to digitize all of my parents photos starting in about 2016. I'm still not finished. lol

Wow, the zeppelin looks like if was edited in there :)

Zeppelins and blimps flying around always look a little surreal to me. The skies were definitely full that day. :)

Wow, it's beautiful. I wonder who won during the race.

Thanks to your question I found a website dedicated to the history of hydroplane races across the US. I will have to research it more and see if I can determine what year my dad took these pics. :)

Oops. I hope I didn't stress you 🥹

No not at all. I love researching history, especially when there is family tie in. :)

It's an amazing lake with a beautiful view

It sure is. :)

Love the vibe on this kind of picture.

Yeah, he framed a nice picture for sure. :)

Pictures are truly memorable and can last for as long as possible if kept well. Imagine a picture way back to the 50s.... it's incredible 😲 😮

I even have one as far back as the 20s. :)

It should be kept well because it's precious and can't be relived 😌
