It’s an amazing location and if I had the chance, would stay there for a number of months. Work like a digital nomad which is something, I’ve never done but would be an adventure. Write code for a few hours and then, walk some levadas.
Yep, the stake there is AMAZING! I stil have memories of a very great one I had around somewhere over the place you have been.
Açores is also very beautiful too, but less "industrialised," if I may classify it like that. More like New Zealand in the South Island, for example.

I still need to watch the last two seasons, but indeed... It’s a very heavy TV series, and at times, a difficult one to watch.

I was picking up some street tacos to-go and when the cashier asked me what I wanted to drink, I looked over at the drink station and saw some Horchata. I immediately envisioned my morning cup of coffee with the sweet creamy cinnamon flavored goodness.
The next morning I had some in my hot coffee and then later that afternoon I finished it off with a packet of instant coffee mixed in. Horchata is a treat.

There is a lesson in this episode as well: gambling sucks. It turns you into something inhumane, you just stop caring about moral and ethical values. So try at your own risk :)

I which people would understand how detrimental gambling is. I have someone close that is already addicted. This man sells off valuables without thinking twice just to gamble.
I don't know how to help him because advise alone isn't obviously workíng.
There was a time when I got addicted to it as well. However I just spent a few than I said nah it is not my thing.
And keep on advising him, maybe he stops doing it. Because in the end, it is just a loophole with very little chance of winning.

I think you're referring to the recent Liquid Network incident, not the Lightning Network.
Around 4,000 BTC were withdrawn from Liquid's federation reserves after a software bug allowed unbacked L-BTC to be created and pegged out. Liquid is a Bitcoin sidechain operated through a federation and is completely separate from the Lightning Network.
The Bitcoin mainnet and Lightning itself were not affected. The self-described white hats later returned about 3,400 BTC, with roughly 598 BTC still outstanding according to the latest reports.
