They range. I have one that lays the tiniest egg and another that lays extra large. But mostly they're average. Around the same size. The most noticable thing about them is the yolk. Dark yellow to orange, much more tasty vs store bought🤗
I remember when I was little my grandma used to have chickens in her backyard they actually prefer spending their night on top of the tall trees although they have small coop. I wonder why
They like to sleep up high, so maybe that was why. The limbs higher than in their coop. Occasionally one of my hens will try and sleep on top of the coup instead of inside lol
I've had free ranging chickens for about 10 years now, and have found eggs in the craziest places. Actually had a few hens laying eggs in the hollow of a tree for a while.

It is a good size egg. It's from my barred rock hen. She's one of my larger hens
