I've watched the seasons available on Netflix; I haven't seen the latest one, but unfortunately it seems like they really messed up the whole season—I've seen tons of negative reviews about it.

Yes they have. The 3rd season is really not on par with the 1st and 2nd. Especially after such a long anticipation.
That's awful, haha, but I'll see if I can ever work up the courage to watch that third season, haha
