The cat and the chicken both like drinking from the pond. I think the local deer has done it too. Not the sort of wildlife I was looking to attract.

Cats seem to drink out of anything that is holding some water. :)
They must be grateful to find this oasis. :)

I see it in another side: Cat and Chicken are like "this is my territory don't pass the pond"
What sort were you hoping for?
I hope for frogs and newts. They seem to find any water. Dragonflies would be nice too.
Frogs will almost certainly come eventually. Pond plants will help attract more of these smaller creatures... these small plastic liner 'ponds' by themselves offer very little but drinking water.
I may add more plants.
