KE has always existed, but now it's in the spotlight (but in a more "dramatic" way). One way or another, I hope it has a positive impact on the ecosystem.
I don't see many positives. I think it's kinda of sad, actually. Instead of working together to fix our low volume, or add users and useful features, we're tagging each other with metrics and in a way rejecting the concept of quality content in the process.
It won't. It's just more shit flinging and disconnect between the types of creators on here. According to 'KE' we can't sell our Hive and reinvest into the content we create because big number bad.
All it does is encourage us to be boring bloggers that write words and not create anything visual. It cripples more creative stuff on here that genuinely has a cost to it: video/filmmaking, art, photography/travel, and even gaming.
It also shows the disconnect between bigger accounts and smaller ones. A big account can sell 20k Hive in one transaction and it won't do much to their KE, but a smaller account can sell 20k over several years and be considered a leech. It's just all around wrong.
Not a fan of the KE stuff. Don't think it makes much different beyond causing more drama. Also limits how people create on here.

I understand what you're saying, but I really hope this new update is something positive in the long run.

I hope more debates about this emerge, as well as better solutions.

Yes! Unfortunately, this is an unbalanced scenario.
What thay KE?
Basically, it's an indicator of who's been withdrawing and selling a lot of HIVE.
