I got into a program with a social media agency that I thought was above me. I had a beautiful first week, with an impactful onboarding and learning sessions. I'm glad to have given it a shot.

Have you ever ignored an opportunity because you felt unqualified? Did you regret it?

Sort:

Sometimes we just need to apply and let them decide whether we're qualified... glad you gave it a shot!

You're absolutely right! I used to ignore opportunities I thought were beyond me. Sometimes, it was the impostor syndrome speaking to me. But I've learned now.

It's just an application. I shouldn't be ashamed of anything. The worst I will receive is a rejection. Thanks, man!

Exactly... rejection may sting, but never trying leaves you wondering what could have happened.

And then the regret again of what could've been. You're right! Happy weekend, mate.

Exactly... better to avoid another round of regret hahaha. Happy weekend, mate! 😁

That's awesome I have dismissed stuff thinking I wasn't qualified enough and regretted them afterward. This is a nice reminder. We learn into the position. We don’t wait to be ready for it first.

Thanks a lot. I'm so sorry about your past but I'm glad that my shared experience could serve as another motivation to keep your head up high. Hugs.

Yes I have but not because I felt unqualified but because I thought it wasn't the right time and I regret it.

Oh, dear! I can imagine. That would hurt even more because we don't always come across opportunities we're qualified for, but you did and it just wasn't the right time for you.

I assume you had a lot on your plate then, so meeting up wouldn't have been possible.

Please, you should no longer beat yourself up about it. More opportunities will come. Sending you hugs.🫂❤️

Of course sis, more will come i believe. Thank you 🙏😊

You're welcome.🤗

Yeah exactly things were tight then. And in Nigeria opportunities need capital to back it up if not hmm it takes grace o.

It truly does. I understand you, dear. It is well.

Amin 🙏

That's a good one.
Congratulations Sissy ❤️
I'm glad you gave it a shot. Send money for congratulation 😀

And about that, huhm. I think I've had quiet a few. But then, I had one just last week. A friend sent it to me and told me to make sure to apply. Even though I'm in search..

.. search of work, I felt somehow about it. So, I didn't registered. Or maybe it was because of the distance. In short, she did and she was shortlisted, she asked me about mine and it was then I told her I didn't register. She felt bad about it. Long story short, on the day of...

..of interview which was just earlier this week, a lot of people who traveled over to the place was sent back. It was later I got to know that all those who were sent back are HND graduates. Like, none of them were allowed to take part in. I'm an HND graduate too. Though I felt..

..felt I should have registered, but seeing what later happened I'm glad I did not. That is how I would have spent thousands of naira to travel over, probably slept in a hotel room overnight only to get rejected the following day. I felt the registration process shouldn't have...

..allowed HND holders to register from the onset instead of allowing them all to, and maybe sending them invite, only to have them all sent back.

I'm glad you didn't fall into that trap too. It's not worth it. Besides, such an organization would have a bad work culture. Better safe than sorry.

Don't be discouraged tho. Keep applying unless they clearly state that they aren't accepting HND graduates.

Sure sure. I would keep on applying. I'm just happy I didn't take part in that 🙂

Sending HND graduates back is terrible policy. If they didn't want them, it should've been stated during the application process. This country is a lot something. The unfairness is something else.

It is their loss! Don't feel bad anymore.

Exactly, they shouldn't have allowed them register in the first place.

It's the anyhowness of the country. SAD!

It is well ❤️‍🩹

It seems you weren't even sure why you didn't apply. More like you had mixed feelings but didn't interrogate it. So sorry.

You must have felt awful for wasting that opportunity that could've earned you a spot. Hugs.🥺🫂

Yeah, let's say it was. I thought about the distance, how much money I would spend and all of that. And my mind wasn't giving me that push too also, so I just let it go.

Great choice. A better opportunity will come. I wish you success.

Amen

Thanks Sissy o

You're welcome!

Thanks, bro! You're always about money. Have some change!😂

Huhm...
Let's settle this money matter first, I will change later 😅

This guy. Please!😂

Okays 🤦

Absolutely😍 Sometimes we limit ourselves by assuming an opportunity is beyond our reach. I’ve learned that being willing to try can open doors we never imagined. You don’t always have to feel qualified before you start. Sometimes, you grow into the opportunity.

Oh, you sound like a motivational speaker/teacher. Haha. Love it, and thanks. This just helped uplift my spirit.

Yes, and I think many of us have done this at some point. The fear of not being good enough can make us walk away before we even try. I’m learning that it’s better to apply, show up, and learn along the way than to reject myself before anyone else gets the chance to.

This! This right here is one of the most encouraging things to ever tell someone having doubts about giving an opportunity a chance or thinking they're not good enough.

I wish I could hang this comment somewhere for all to us because it's beautiful. Happy you're also learning.

Thought was above you? Did I actually read that right?
Oh please! We don't do that here. 😏

So yeah, always believe your presence is sought after in the room, not just to fill up the seats. 😘

Btw, I'm glad that didn't stop you from stepping in and giving it a shot and really, so far so good?
Love it for you. 🥰

Ikr? I'm glad it didn't deter me too. It was a beautiful first week. So much to learn, and I'm looking forward to all of it. Thanks!

Beaurryfull. I hope it all ends soooo well. 🤞🏼🥰

I hope so too! Thanks.

😘🥰

Oh, don't scold me.😫 I've learned not to think lowly of myself anymore, at least with this experience.

Thanks for the quote. It's inspiring. Love you! Xoxo.

My babyyyyy, I take that back. 🤭
Alright... You're right on track then.

Rightttt! Muahhhh 😘

It's a good thing that you actually adapted and you didn't allow the mentality of "I'm not good enough" to hold you back

I use to be like that. I use to think that I'm not really enough for some job I applied for a time ago. I just had to apply for applying sake and I removed my mind from the job. I was called for an interview and I nailed it. To my greatest surprise, I got the job.

You see? It's how life goes. We all have to stop limiting ourselves as there's no harm in trying.

Right? I mean, I've had such experiences in the past but I didn't let the deter me. I applied regardless and it was successful.

Yes I have, and I didn't feel any regrets, because of my schedule

Yes I have, and I did not regret it because that time, I was very busy.

As it should be. Regrets over things you couldn't control is never the best reaction.

Sure 😊. Good morning ma'am.

Good morning, dear. Hope you had a good night?

Yes I did, and you?

I did too, thanks.🥰 I wish you a lovely Sunday.

You too ma'am.
