Take a Break and Think About Life

in Ecencyyesterday (edited)

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how we define success. It's amazing the effects the end of the year has on us sometimes, isn't it? Anyways, I digress. What I was trying to say is that so often we equate success with money, titles, status. You know, the kind of success we see depicted on Instagram, Facebook, Tik-Tok, etc.

But if we look closely at the people who actually have that kind of success, more often than not, you realize that their lives aren’t as perfect as they appear. They too carry heavy pressures, difficult trade offs and challenges they try to cover under the facade. We all do, actually.

So I have to take a break and ask myself, Is that really the life I want?

The truth is, many of the things society celebrates aren’t at the top of my personal list. Don't get me wrong, I'm pro achievement. The thing is, when I imagine looking back at my life one day, I realize that I won’t be thinking about my job, titles or achievements. I’ll be thinking about the time spent with my family, friends and the relationships that made life meaningful.

If you are feeling the season blues, you know, that pull between what the world calls “success” and what your heart actually values, take a moment to rethink what success truly means to you. Not the version handed to you but the version that aligns with the life you want to live.

When you look back someday, will it be your achievements you think about or the moments with the people you love?

Just FYI, and I don't say this lightly as some may take the info and abuse it. But if you have people that want to be tagged when you post - something you can do to make it a bit more aesthetic on the posts would be to either use a spoil command to hide the user tags from view or to use the command to make them smaller.

Just a tip, you're ofc free to do as you like. :D

Thank you, this is a great tip, @acidyo! The people I tag regularly (with the exception of the crimsonclad posts) do want to be tagged every time I share something. But I’m definitely open to improving the aesthetics. I appreciate the suggestion!

By making the users' name smaller, do you mean using these "sub - /sub>"?

What is a "spoil command" and how do I use it?

Thank you for tip and support!

yes that sub command

I'm in bed about to go to sleep right now but maybe you can find it if you search for the spoiler command. I can check tomorrow if I still remember! It's quite a nice feature!

Super, I'll do that. Thanks again! Have a good night!

Sometimes, the real progress is just taking a break and reconnecting with the things that actually make you feel alive. Although, it is hard to do so in this fast-pace world, and thanks to the mighty social media, everything is socially constructed. Back inn the days, I used to push myself nonstop: studies, work, trying to meet everyone' expectations and not just mine. My family wanted me to be a doctor and I had zero-interest in the field. I tried to persuade them and was successful in my attempt. Currently, I am doing bachelors in Literature and I love it, everything feels real, doable, loveable and what not. So, I would not deny that I do not care about anything or anyone's opinion, but right now, I am enjoying what I am. For the achievements, I yet have to get those things in life. But, I have no idea what achievements I want to achieve 🤭. All I want is a good food at my table, my family, some close friends, and few luxuries.

This society really needs to understand the core purpose of life, and you are doing a great job.

Peace 🕊

Your testimony It’s a beautiful example of what happens when someone identifies what truly matters and begins living in alignment with those values. In a world that pushes us in every direction, choosing what feels real and life-giving takes a lot of courage. It seems to me that you’ve done something many people never do. You listened to your own voice and acted on it.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and for your comment, @storicious! Peace to you as well 🕊️

How is the coaching industry evolving??

Very good, I can’t complain! You’ve asked me that in a few different posts before, so I’m curious, is there something specific about the coaching industry that you’d like to know more about? I’m happy to share more if you tell me what you’re looking for.

This is actually a very good advice. 😊

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. What is your main takeaway?

That simple things make more meaningful impact than the complex stuff we deal with on a daily basis...

I want to explore this goal attaimment thing where can I get certified...😊

If you do a little research you'll bind many schools online. But make sure they offer a good program that is ICF acredited. I have several certifications, but the "Goal Attainment Coach" certification I got from "The Coaching Training Academy" out of Canada.

Does it cost a tad too much or is it free??

No, it's not free. I don't know how much it cost right now.

Send link to it. I might check wht skills they give and see if I could get em for free or discount. 😊

I can't right now, but you can google it. It shouldn't be hard to find.
