I Got Scammed By A Bible Study Page

in Ecencylast month

A few days ago, I was on FB looking around and a page popped up offering a "blueprint" of the 66 books of the Bible for $4.79. I thought that was a great price and it was something I've looked at before, so I told my husband I was going to buy it.

When I went to enter my credit card, his was already in the computer, so it pulled his information up. Then on the website, it said it was fraudulent, so I figured it didn't go through. I grabbed my card on a different account and entered it. Dummy.

Mine also said it was fraudulent, but I kept pushing that I didn't want the extra thing they were trying to sell me, and eventually it ended up on a page that I had purchased the items for $4.79. Suddenly I got an email alert from my credit card saying there was a fraudulent purchase of $60 that was declined.

This wouldn't be a huge deal if I could just cancel my card and get a new one, but since we don't live in our home country, it complicates things. Anyway, it's a long story, but they ended up putting a $4.79 charge on both of our cards. Our cards blocked multiple $60 and $90 attempts (I only know this because it showed up on the website of the blueprints under my account). It was also fishy because I couldn't delete my card number or account, but I didn't realize this until it was too late.

We are keeping an eye on our accounts, but we haven't had anything go through other than the 2 charges for $4.79, and we hope that's where it ends. If they try again, we'll have to cancel and deal with it. My dad said our card company should send us the cards next day, anywhere in the world, via FedEx, which I thought was crazy! I'm hoping it doesn't come down to that though!

Anyway, I downloaded the pages from their website and then I thought it might have a virus, so I took screenshots of each of the pages and deleted the file from my computer. It's 33 pages long because I did them as half pages. I've printed them off and plan to put them in a little notebook.

I'm going to include them here if you'd like to have a copy of them as well! Don't go through the website to buy them, because it will cost more than they say! My husband said no more buying off of random websites - only ebay and amazon for us! Ha!

Sorry it uploaded them in a random order!!

Yeah many bad people actually hack religious pages/accts on Facebook so they can scam people into giving them money. Apparently some websites are doing it too. Tsk tsk. Anyway let's pray for the conversion of people like them so they will have the grace to change their ways and less people will be victimized. 🙏

Sorry you got scammed, but at least you didn't pay more than twice the stated price - and you have the blueprint you wanted. You have been very fortunate, blessed even, by these results.

Thanks!
