I think they are having problems over there, they have their beg for money banner up.
But, as long as they take down books that are in the public domain because of their content, they have it coming.
As far as I've seen, Anna's Archive stores/propagates their data in torrents.
I believe it would be better for them to do so via IPFS as it has far less redundancy and better propagating methods. Also it's easier to make a script to automatically update local storage nodes.
Whenever a new file is added, a new CID is generated, which can be pinned to all other IPFS nodes, causing them to download copies of said CID.
Unfortunately it would be harder to assess health of stored data as I've found no "seed/leechers" mechanism that could be prompted as stored data is not related to single torrent files but to chunks of data of their individual files/folders.
They are open source, if you want to, you can put in suggestions at that link.
Or, maybe build one of our own?
We could mirror all the data on the chain, that would be something.
Unfortunately I don't have that many TB necessary to store it all. But it might be interesting to at least store the least shared torrents as I have a Kubo IPFS running in my home-PC 24/7. To access it would only need the rood CID of the folder.

I don't doubt that the db is extremely large, all the books ever written are gonna take up some space.
Maybe when 3speak gets going we can upload it there.
