It's called microblogging for a reason. You can write a detailed full-length post and publish in any community.
255 IS more than adequate for #microblogging on #Waves! More words can be written in a blog post.

Microblogging is another thing. I'm sorry you're calling it that. Waves isn't microblogging, but simply a reply to a tweet. The exact name is a short message. (The name microblogging is different, so don't confuse it.)
Microblogging, on the other hand, should give you the opportunity to interact with people. I could understand (just trying), when you post an action on Waves (i.e., saying, "Here I am, sharing my opinion and this short Waves/tweet"), I could accommodate you so far.
But tell me, what does the microblogging factor have to do with responding to one of your posts? Freedom of thought means interaction, not limitation.
What difference does @ecency or any other front end or platform make to the length of expression in the first reply/interaction?
This approach has always been implemented on Twitter/X, which was created for short tweets (here call them weves or whatever you like), but when I reply to a post, you must be free to reply with more than 255 letters.
It would be more professional and would involve people in real interaction, full of knowledge, experiences, emotions, etc.
Giving the ENTIRE community the opportunity for continuous and free exchange of opinions and visibility of the dialogues.
Perhaps receiving votes NATURALLY and not FORCEDLY as happens in many groups, increasingly frequented by bots.
Meritocracy in groups is over, or has NEVER existed (this is my opinion, obviously, based on what I've seen since I've been in HIVE) for a little over a month.
So for this and other reasons that I can't describe in a single comment, I DO NOT SHARE your vision because it would be a mental limitation I cannot impose on myself, especially if it flaunts the FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION that people fight for every day, even at the cost of their lives. This limitation is denigrating because it (indirectly) insults the intellect of those who have something to say and act voluntarily, commenting on posts that are most relevant to them, without having to worry about containing their thoughts.
P.S. In the meantime, while we're broadcasting, remind the developers that I've been reporting error 500s ever since I joined, especially in the waves section and in comments.
Even after more than a month and a half has passed, I'm still having this problem. I no longer report it in interactions, I've done it at least 50 times.
I think that's enough to understand where the problem lies; if you're not understanding, you're hiring new, more competent people!
Ecency must no longer settle, but evolve and, above all, listen to the people who have some experience and have demonstrated it by finding bugs and much more.
I hope this message is one of those that will quickly change the platform, both internally and beyond, because decisions will have to be made soon.
But we'll find out soon! In the meantime, change the way you approach observers and reporters of innovation, replacing words with their meaning, since microblogging is a whole different ballgame. I believe more than five years have been enough for Hive to evolve. Now we need to decide what to do, and above all, understand whether @ecency wants to evolve and become the number one front end or remain stagnant like Hive. "Of course, my suggestions are always suggestions," which have certainly helped you from the first day I joined. The road is long, but I hope you can make the leap before my time on the platform is up—hopefully as late as possible! In the meantime, I'll continue in my INFORMATION role.
