For me the disappointment is real and it makes sense.When you are that close, your brain naturally fixates on the one place you didn’t reach.Pretending the feeling shouldn’t exist usually just pushes it underground.
What you do not need is to stay stuck in it or let it define the whole experience. Feel it,name it,then decide what to do with it. Second place still means you performed at a high level.The gap is information, not a verdict on your worth.
