Ecencials! We’re back with a fresh update bringing a series of new improvements, fixes, and refinements to make your Ecency experience smoother, faster, and more reliable than ever!
What’s New
Ecencials, meet our new chat experience powered by a refreshed protocol! Previous chat protocol was based on Nostr, our goal and intention was to create light accounts via nostr protocol and easily onboard massive community of similar minded people into Hive, who prefers free-speech, financial freedom, true ownership and decentralization. While nostr protocol had those, implementation and stability was poor. We have had few months of testing and noticed, due to instability at protocol layer, our community and users, didn't use it and fall back to regular centralized Discord.
Now we have moved away from Nostr and built chat on simple reliable opensource protocol that matter most. Offering simple, yet powerful chatting experience can bring people closer to one-another. We hope new chat system will at least help you communicate better with your friends and community within Hive, without leaving/relying on Discord.
Community moderators are able to moderate their own community channels...
With this latest update, chats are easier, faster, and more engaging than ever. Auto-created channels will appear as you browse, and you'll be added to the right channels automatically, no extra steps needed. Communities you are subscribed/joined to, will automatically show in your Chats, you can DM (direct message) with any user who is using Ecency and chats.
Hurry up, explore the new chat system, and stay connected with your favorite communities.
This update also brings several important bug fixes to improve stability and your experience.
And don’t forget you can now trade Engine tokens directly on Ecency Web, a feature added just a few days ago!
