We're rolling out Ecency Mobile 3.5.7, and this first deep dive is all about Waves: a brand-new Shorts reels tab, inline audio for voice posts, one combined feed, tip counts and payouts you can trust on every card, your own tag and source tabs, and a refreshed tab bar.

What's new
One combined Waves feed
Your Waves feed now pulls together short content from across Hive into a single, time-ordered stream. Instead of seeing only one source, you get a wider, livelier feed in one place, and every wave still opens and behaves exactly as a wave when you tap in.
One stream, many sources. Short content from multiple Hive front-ends now flows into the same feed, so you discover more without hopping between apps.
Cleaner for you. Authors you have muted are filtered out of the feed while you are logged in, so your stream stays yours.
Shorts: a full-screen reels tab
There is a brand-new Shorts tab in Waves, a full-screen, vertical feed of short videos from across Hive. Swipe up for the next one, and the clip in view plays on its own. The moment you switch to another tab or leave the screen, playback pauses, so nothing keeps running behind your back.
Listen to voice posts, right in the feed
Voice posts now play without ever leaving Waves. Liketu's Speaks voice waves carry a built-in audio player with a play and pause button, a tappable waveform to scrub through, and the clip length, so you can listen in a single tap.
One voice at a time. Start a new voice post and any other one that was playing pauses automatically, so two clips never talk over each other.
Reliable on iPhone and iPad. We fixed playback so Speak audio is dependable on iOS.
Your own feed tabs, by tag or source
Want a feed built around the topics, or the kind of content, you care about? Tap the "+" button on the Waves tab bar to open the Custom feeds picker and pin your own tabs.
Pin any tag. Tap a trending-tag chip or type any tag to pin it. Your pinned tags stick around and show up as scrollable tabs right next to "For you" and "Following".
Pin a whole source. The same picker lets you pin sources as their own tabs, so Waves, Threads, Snaps, Moments, and Speaks each get a one-tap home and you jump straight to the kind of content you want.
Type it your way. Free-typed input is tidied into a valid tag automatically, so " #MyTag " becomes "my-tag" without you thinking about it.
Easy to manage. Remove a pinned tab any time you want to refocus your feeds.
An Ecency source badge
A small round Ecency logo now appears next to the timestamp on a wave or comment when it was published from an Ecency client. It is a quiet, at-a-glance way to see what was shared from Ecency.
Reply chips on every wave card
Wave cards now show a reply-count chip in the action row, the same style you already know from the main feed. Everyone can see how many replies a wave has, and when you are logged in the chip is tappable so you can jump straight into the conversation.
A cleaner, clearer experience
Payouts you can trust. Zero-payout cards no longer show a bare "$". The payout value now always renders, including $0.000, to match the web. Declined payouts show struck-through so it is obvious at a glance.
Accurate vote counts. Vote counts are now correct on every card, including your custom tag feeds. When you vote on a busy wave the count ticks up or down immediately instead of waiting for a refresh, and removing your last vote is respected right away.
Tips at a glance. Wave cards now show a tip count next to a gift icon, and the icon fills in once you have tipped, so you can see what is getting love and whether you have already chipped in.
Promoted waves, done right. Promoted waves are woven into your For you and Following feeds with a clear "Promoted" badge, matching the web experience. Your tag feeds and the profile Waves tab stay free of them.
Relative time everywhere. Following and tag feeds now show relative publish time too, not just For you.
Cleaner video thumbnails. The bars around portrait video thumbnails are now transparent and blend into the card, instead of showing a grey fill.
A refreshed tab bar. The Waves tab bar now matches the home feed, with even-width "For you" and "Following" tabs, an always-visible "+" to add your own, and smooth horizontal scrolling once you have pinned a few.
A tidier GIF label. The small "GIF" badge on animated images is smaller now, so it covers less of the picture.
Smoother commenting on Android. We fixed a crash that could hit after a couple of Waves comments, so replying on Android is now steady and reliable.

Great features. Keep them up
Great features💪
There are so many new features to love on Waves these days! Thank you. I love that the Ecency badge identifies Waves posts while still allowing us to see the other short content feeds we are interested in. The filters are awesome for customizing my Waves feed and the gifts count is very helpful for keeping me organined!
