Am Wochenende habe ich mir in meinem Garten eine Terasse gebaut.
@danielhuhservice kann das sicher besser, aber der ist ja zu weit weg.
Wie jeder Hobbyhandwerker habe ich mir natürlich etliche Youtube Tutorials angesehen und entschieden, dass das alles für mich nicht in Frage kommt.
Fundament gießen, eine Schüttung als Dränage legen etc. ist für mich einfach zu nervig. Ausserdem muss das ganze ja nicht Jahrzehnte halten. Wenn es in ein paar Jahren kaputt geht, mach ich es einfach neu.
Also habe ich mir aus unserem Holzbestand ein paar Balken rausgesucht, um mit denen das Grundgerüst aufzubauen.
Danach habe ich versucht, die Balken zumindest ungefähr mit einer Wasserwage auszurichten und mit ein paar Steinen die Aussenseiten befestigt.
Es soll ja nicht beim ersten betreten schon absacken.
Als das fertig war, kam in die Zwischenräume einiges an Todholz und überbleibsel, die ich sowieso entsorgen muss.
Mein Gedanke war, dass sich darin Insekten und kleine Tiere ein Haus bauen können, wenn sie es wollen. Ratten kommen da hoffentlich nicht rein.
Zu guter letzt kam noch etwas Erde und Kies oben drauf.
Tja, da war es nun mein Grundgerüsst.
4,60 Meter lang und 2,60 Meter breit. Genug für einen Tisch und ein paar Stühle.
Am Samstag um ca. 18 Uhr war ich soweit. Der Baumarkt hatte noch bis 20 Uhr geöffnet und ist nur einen Kilometer von uns entfernt. Ich hatte allerdings kein Auto um 3 Meter Latten zu transportieren.
Aber ich habe ja ein Lastenrad mit Anhänger.
Ich muss aber zugeben, das Gewicht und die Länge habe ich etwas unterschätzt.
Das Rad hat es mit der Last hinten drauf mal so richtig angehoben. Ausserdem streiften die langen Dinger am Ende auf dem Boden.
Den Kilometer habe ich dann das Rad geschoben. Aber bei der zweiten Fahrt war ich etwas schlauer. und habe sie etwas besser geordnet. So ging es dann.
42 Latten a 3 Meter mit zwei Fahrradladungen.
Na dann fehlte nur noch das Sägen und Schrauben.
Sehr schön. Fehlt nur noch der Tisch und ein paar mehr Stühle.
Was mir aber während des aufbaus schon klar wurde war, dass ich hier dringend einen Sonnenschutz benötige. Das ganze ist komplett ungeschützt und das Wetter der letzten Tage war schon echt heiß.
Jetzt muss noch ein bisschen Rasen wachsen und dann wird es langsam gemütlich.

Like any hobby craftsman, I naturally watched a number of YouTube tutorials and decided that none of this was an option for me.
Pouring foundations, laying a drainage layer etc. is just too annoying for me. What's more, the whole thing doesn't have to last for decades. If it breaks in a few years, I'll just replace it.
So I picked out a few beams from our wood stock to build the basic framework with.
Then I tried to align the beams at least approximately with a spirit level and fixed the outer sides with a few stones.
We don't want it to sink the first time we step on it.
When that was finished, there was some dead wood and leftovers in the gaps, which I have to dispose of anyway.
My thought was that insects and small animals could build a home in there if they wanted to. Hopefully rats won't get in there.
Last but not least, some earth and gravel were added on top.
Well, there was my basic structure.
4.60 meters long and 2.60 meters wide. Enough for a table and a few chairs.
I was ready on Saturday at around 6pm. The DIY store was open until 8pm and is only a kilometer away from us. However, I didn't have a car to transport 3 meters of slats.
But I have a cargo bike with a trailer.
But I have to admit that I underestimated the weight and length a bit.
The bike really lifted it with the load on the back. What's more, the long things ended up rubbing on the ground.
I then pushed the bike for that kilometer. But on the second ride I was a bit smarter and organized it a bit better. That's how it went.
42 slats of 3 meters each with two bike loads.
All that was missing was the sawing and screwing.
Very nice. All that's missing is the table and a few more chairs.
But what I realized during the construction was that I urgently need sun protection. The whole thing is completely unprotected and the weather over the last few days has been really hot.
Now I need to grow some grass and then it will slowly get cozy.

deine Arbeit sieht wirklich gelungen aus. Das hätte ich selbst nicht besser gekonnt. 😉
Allerdings befürchte ich doch bei deiner Unterkonstruktion das sich im Winter Wühlmäuse einnisten. Das erkennst du dann wenn du viele kleine Löcher im boden hast.
Sollte deine Terrasse viellicht in 10 Jahren vermodert sein dann bauen wir aus deinen Granitsteinen, links im Bild eine neue.
die Ziegelsteine sind für den Boden allerdings nicht geeignet.
