My perspective on 'luck' changed when a particular equation was presented to me:

Luck = opportunity + preparedness

Chance would fall under the opportunity category, but effort is on the side of preparedness. Winning the lottery (opportunity) is useless if you are not prepared to cash it in (preparedness)!

    I would agree with you 100% there and that is a great way to look at it. Another thing I would say, if there is something that you really want, you should try to GIVE it as much as possible.
