Ab-so-lutely! Write an authentic intro (it doesn't need to be long, or reveal any more than you are comfortable sharing with strangers) and make comments on interesting posts which foster the kind of conversation would want to see in comments under your own posts. Pay no attention to the occasional spammers who troll new accounts and randomly spam rants. It proves we're anti-censorship here. Mute them and move on with life.
